The BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo

The BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo sets whole new standards of performance and efficiency in the segment of sporty and luxurious vehicles powered by diesel. The 3.0 liter straight-six engine with Bi-Turbo charging produces 257 kW (350 hp) and 700 Nm torque and delivers impressive performance in the compact, agile body of the multi-award winning BMW 3 Series.

The BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo is characterised by a subtle yet powerfull appearance. The front spoiler and chrome kidney grill underline the powerful presence of the BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo on the road, hinting at its athletic pedigree and extraordinary performance. The standard LED headlights and LED fog lights are highly efficient, provide maximum road illumination and lend the BMW ALPINA D3 Bi-Turbo its unmistakable appearance. The exhaust system features two trademark elliptical twin tailpipes which are elegantly integrated into the rear valence. Above, the taillights shine in the iconic BMW LED design. Superior material quality and refined interior design elements go hand-in-hand with an extended standard equipment level which includes Automatic air conditioning, Sport Seats and Park Distance Control.

The D3 Bi-Turbo Saloon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 276 km/h. This makes the combined fuel consumption of only 5.3 l/100 km and 139 g/km CO2 based on the ECE norm (NEDC) all the more astonishing. With this automobile ALPINA defines the benchmark for diesel performance, combining extraordinary power output and excellent efficiency with familiar ALPINA virtues appreciated by our customers worldwide.

The D3 Bi-Turbo Touring combines extraordinary performance and excellent efficiency with a high level of versatility for everyday and family use. Its large cruising range, generous power reserves and functional stowage space make it a sporty, luxurious all-rounder –  optionally also available with all-wheel drive. Despite all this practicality, the D3 Bi-Turbo Touring will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 274 km/h. The combined fuel consumption measured to ECE norm (NEDC) is just 5.4 l/100 km and 142 g/km CO2.

»»  D - HISTORY  ««

The first D3 to come out of Buchloe appeared in 2005 as a turbocharged, 2-litre four cylinder engine, and delivered a number of surprises – it was not the first diesel to bear the ALPINA badge, but it was unusual for ALPINA not to spearhead the performance tables. Instead this 'small' displacement offered torque and exceptional economy. The D3 later advanced to become the Bi-Turbo, acquiring significantly more driving culture and increased performance in the process. Together with an extensive range of body shapes, a sublime chassis and the option of manual or automatic, this model became the most-sold BMW ALPINA of all time, with a total of over 2,000 vehicles delivered to customers.

The extremely successful and proven 3-litre six cylinder diesel engine with Bi-Turbo charging, also seen in the acclaimed D5 Bi-Turbo and XD3 Bi-Turbo models, has been available in the multi-award winning BMW 3 Series body shape since 2013. With over hine hundred units sold to date, the combination of powerful engine and low fuel consumption in a compact body has met with an extremely positive response. In the press, the D3 and D4 Bi-Turbo models are often referred to as the best the real world has to offer, especially when pitched against models from other premium manufacturers with much larger and thirstier petrol engines.

Sophisticated Power

The design of an automobile from ALPINA skilfully combines the BMW design language with distinct and yet evolutionary ALPINA elements. In total the appearance of a BMW ALPINA is a reflection of its inner values: powerful, dynamic, confident but never intrusive.
